EDC Paris Business School is a leading French Grande École, accredited by EFMD, with a strong international orientation and a growing research culture. Located in the heart of La Défense, Europe’s largest business district, EDC offers a unique environment at the crossroads of academic excellence and business practice. The OCRE Research Lab brings together faculty across management, strategy, finance, and economics, with a strong emphasis on the study of organizations and their transformation. The lab provides an intellectually stimulating environment, an active seminar series, and a collaborative research culture.
EDC Paris Business School invites applications for a full-time Enseignant-Chercheur position (Assistant or Associate Professor) in Project Management. The position is affiliated with the OCRE Research Lab, EDC’s research center dedicated to the study of organizations, strategy, and economic dynamics in an era of digital transformation.
Project management sits at the core of the position, understood broadly as the discipline of scoping, planning, steering, and delivering work in complex organizational settings. We welcome candidates whose teaching and research extend naturally from this core into two closely related fields: consulting — the way professional work is framed, sold, and delivered to clients — and negotiation — the relational and contractual competence that underpins both. Successful candidates are expected to pursue high-impact research, publish in leading academic journals, contribute actively to the OCRE lab’s research agenda, provide outstanding teaching at the graduate and executive levels, and strengthen EDC’s links with the professional world.
Degree required: Ph.D. or doctorate in a relevant field (management, organization studies, strategy, information systems, or a related discipline). A research track record in project or programme management, or in an adjacent field applied to project settings, is expected. Professional experience in project management or consulting is a strong asset.
Main Expertise
Ideal candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following areas, anchored in project management:
• Project & programme management: project lifecycle, scoping, planning, budgeting, risk and stakeholder management, project governance, steering, and performance.
• Delivery methodologies & frameworks: PMI / PMBOK, CAPM, PMP; Agile methodologies and Scrum (familiarity with SAFe or PRINCE2 an asset); hybrid and portfolio approaches.
• Consulting: consulting methods and postures, diagnosis and problem-framing, client engagement, scoping of missions, deliverables and recommendations, and the consulting industry.
• Negotiation: distributive and integrative negotiation, preparation and strategy, contract and stakeholder negotiation in project and client settings, and conflict management.
• Cross-cutting managerial competencies: change management, team dynamics, leadership, and strategic decision-making in delivery contexts.
Other Desired Expertise
• Strong foundational knowledge of core business disciplines, particularly strategy, management, and organizational behaviour.
• Understanding of how projects, programmes, and consulting engagements are conducted in real-world, large-scale business environments.
• A professional certification (PMP, CAPM, PSM / Scrum, or equivalent) is considered a strong plus.
• Teaching experience in project management, consulting, or negotiation, with a focus on business applications and managerial relevance.
• Ability to bridge academic rigour and professional practice through case studies, simulations, and live business projects.
• Fluency in English; French desirable, as courses are delivered across French- and English-taught tracks.
• Curriculum Vitae (please indicate the ranking of your publications according to recognized classification systems: ABS, FNEGE, and/or FT50).
• Cover Letter.
• Three professional references (names and contact details).
• Research agenda.
• Teaching evaluations (if available).
