Call for Papers for the European colloquium celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first EU Waste Framework Directive. The event will take place in Paris on 8–9 October 2026.
This colloquium aims to foster dialogue between legal scholars, management researchers, and social scientists to reflect on 50 years of EU waste policies and their implementation.
Key themes include:
Evolution of EU waste law and policy instruments
Governance tensions between EU, national, and local levels
Power dynamics among public, private, and civil-society actors (EPR, DRS systems, etc.)
Circular-economy strategies, plastics governance, waste-prevention and end-of-waste policies
Judicial cases, infrastructures, controversies, and democratic processes
Territorial innovations and implementation experiences in Europe and beyond
