Founded in 1897, MBS School of Business (MBS) is a vibrant, innovative, and dynamic business school. It is triple accredited (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA) and offers a wide range of graduate and undergraduate programs including BBA, Master’s, MSc, Executive MBA, and DBA programs, as well as tailor-made executive programs. MBS is present in the most important rankings of business schools in France and in the world. MBS welcomes approximately 3,500 students every year. Its main campus is ideally located in the south of France, in the city of Montpellier, which is one of the most attractive and fastest-growing cities in France.

MBS’ teaching and research activities cover all traditional areas of management science. The school has been recognized as one of the best business schools in France in terms of academic research, both in quality and quantity of publications. In 2025, MBS was the most frequently cited in the Shanghai Ranking, being the 3rd French institution in the field of Finance, 5th in Economics, 9th in Business Administration, and 8th in Management. Faculty members of MBS School of Business have published more than 100 research articles per year over the last five years, in peer-reviewed journals listed in the ABS, FNEGE, and FT50 rankings. 25% of these articles focus on societal themes that fit with the school’s core values of ethics, openness, and social responsibility.

MBS invites applications for 3 permanent, full-time positions. The appointments are expected to commence on 1st September, and the selected candidates are expected to relocate to Montpellier or nearby area. All positions require the ability to teach in French and English. In line with the school’s identity, a focus of research on sustainable transformation and related topics in the fields of specialization listed below is considered a plus.

  • Assistant/Associate Professor of Management of Information Systems & AI with a focus on data governance frameworks, privacy and GDPR compliance, AI adoption in organizations, business analytics, and/or human‑AI collaboration.
  • Assistant/Associate Professor of Management & Organizations with a focus on Organizations, societal transition, responsible leadership, and/or socio‑environmental innovation.
  • Assistant/Associate Professor of HR Management with a focus on cross cultural communication, inclusive leadership and/or diversity

Profil recherché / Compétences requises

Professor of Management of Information Systems & AI : The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related field, with a publication record in peer-reviewed journals focused on IS strategy, data governance, cybersecurity, digital transformation, analytics, or AI ethics. Their research should explore topics such as data governance frameworks, privacy and GDPR compliance, digital risk, AI adoption in organizations, business analytics, or human-AI collaboration. Teaching competencies may include IS management, IS governance, data management, AI and generative AI literacy, business intelligence (notably via Python/Colab and modern BI tools), and digital innovation methodologies. Ability to integrate ethical, regulatory, and organizational perspectives into technical instruction is essential. The candidate must be able to support hands-on, lab-based pedagogies.

Professor of Management & Organizations : The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Management with specialization Organization, or a related field, and demonstrates a strong record of peer-reviewed publications on societal transition, responsible leadership, sustainable business strategy, SDG integration, or socio-environmental innovation. Teaching responsibilities may include Responsible Management, Sustainability & SDG Strategy, and challenge-based learning formats such as SDG hackathons, sustainability entrepreneurship projects, and experiential team-based missions. The candidate must be adept at facilitating applied sustainability practice, guiding student teams through impact-oriented project work, while cultivating a learning environment centered on transformative action.

Professor of HR Management : The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Management (Organizational Behavior/HRM), or a closely related field, with a record of peer reviewed publications on the field, which can include cultural intelligence and cross cultural communication, inclusive leadership and belonging, equitable performance systems, and the organizational outcomes of diversity and inclusion. On the teaching side, the candidate must be able to deliver courses in cross cultural management/communication, inclusive leadership, inclusive performance management, and innovation & entrepreneurship pedagogy. The candidate should demonstrate capability to perform experiential and challenge based learning (debates, simulations, field visits, startup projects, inclusion workshops, video campaigns), the ability to design culturally inclusive learning environments for international cohorts, and a capacity to build external partnerships (e.g., firms, startups, cultural institutions) that strengthen practice based outcomes and employability.

2. In one single file: (a) a CV that includes a list of publications (clearly indicating their ranking in the ABS list) and the names and contacts of at least 2 referees, (b) a research statement that details research interests and pipeline, (c) a teaching statement that includes a list of courses taught as well as the official report of recent teaching evaluations (if available for the last 2 academic years)
3. A work-in-progress manuscript

The deadline for submitting applications is April 30, 2026. Candidates are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible because screening of applications will start in a timely manner and will continue until the positions are filled. Selected candidates will be invited for a preliminary job interview via video conference. Following these pre-interviews, some of the candidates will be invited for a formal campus visit.
