Created in 1988, Excelia currently educates more than 5,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across its 5 schools: Excelia Business School, Excelia Tourism School, Excelia Academy, Excelia Digital School, and Excelia Executive Education, located on its 3 campuses in La Rochelle, Tours and Orleans.
Excelia is a member of the French major Business School association, Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE), and is featured in national Business School rankings as well as in prestigious international rankings. In 2021, its Master in Management program was ranked 42nd worldwide by the Financial Times, a rise of 6 places. That very year, the Master in Management made its entry into The Economist ranking, as 11th worldwide and the 7th place among French schools. Furthermore, Excelia Business School holds AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accreditations, for its Master in Management programme.
Excelia is a higher education institute with a strong commitment to research, with an active and dynamic Faculty of 90 permanent members, spread over 5 teaching and research departments. Excelia focusses on 3 interdisciplinary areas of research: Sustainable Development and CSR, Tourism Management, and Agility, Innovation and Digitalisation (AID).
As part of its 2020-2025 strategic plan, Excelia is recruiting more than 40 teacher-researchers offering a considerable momentum of publication in academic journals. We especially appreciate candidates who can root their research activities in one of our 3 expertise areas.
Your duties will mainly include :
a) teaching activities
b) academic research activities (possibly including research project management)
c) supervision of student thesis
d) some aspects of administrative coordination within the tourism management department.
In return, you will join a supportive team and collaborative environment.
Teaching subjects are flexible but expertise is required in : sustainable tourism (including UNWTO’s SDG), tourism services marketing, entrepreneurship.
Please note that although Excelia’s main campus is in La Rochelle, teaching requirements might also take place on the campuses of Tours and Orléans.
You hold a Doctorate or PhD in tourism management.
You have a strong track record in teaching at least at undergraduate level and some experience in online and blended learning.
You are willing to get involved in our tourism management department activities.
You have a good record of publications in high-quality journals (FNEGE, ABDC, etc.) and demonstrate an active research agenda, since being an active researcher with publications in academic journals is a prerequisite for this position.
Perfect fluency in French and English is mandatory.
